Back to the daily grind
11.26.06 (10:47 pm)   [edit]

Thanksgiving break is coming to a close and I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. I like my job but I got used to sleeping in and being a couch potato. Best Buy dropped the price for Prison Break $30 down to $19.99. So I got up on "Black Friday" and bumped elbows with the common folk and grabbed myself a copy. So far I've made it through 12 episodes. Yeah, that's how active my break was. No party stories here.

I had Thanksgiving at the Hadenfeldt house again. I had to renew my Solon V.I.P. membership card. Adam's mom talked me into working some more wrestling tournaments. It wasn't that hard to convince me. You get to watch good wrestling and they feed you all day. Hopefully they have breakfast pizza again. Alright, back to Thanksgiving. This year I decided to bring something. I made a cheesecake for the feast. If you haven't heard, I got skills in the kitchen. It was a strawberry cheesecake covered with walnuts. Man that was good. Now I have to one-up myself when I go home to Oceanside for Christmas.

Iowa City Livin'
11.19.06 (10:45 am)   [edit]

I wish we had a camera crew with us last night. There's so much that happened that I can't post. We went out for a friend's bachelor party in Iowa City and we got our money's worth. We started off with a little pre-game at the hotel and then went to our first stop. The entertainment featured some drunk guy singing into his cell phone at the bar. He got up and started moving around as if he was on stage. At one point he was sending text messages and analyzing his phone as if he was looking through a microscope. This dude was gone.

At the next bar, we ran into a bachelorette party. Nothing to strange about that. But the soon to be bride is the ex-girlfriend of our bachelor. It gets better. They're getting married on the same day. We were getting tossed up there and kept keeping Ean from getting in a fight. He'd tap people walking by and say stupid shiz. We hit up another bar after that and took over the dance floor. There were about 15 Cornell people on the dance floor.

We sat around drinking at the hotel for a little bit and then decided to go eat. We went to Pancheros and the staff there was talking shiz in Spanish. I laughed my ass off. The only people who knew what they were saying were me and this guy from Spain. The employees would call the customers names and say it with a smile. I couldn't help but laugh. A couple bartenders from the first bar we were at were in line with us and they got the royal treatment since they were sexy beasts. We sat and chatted with them for a while but decided to go back to the hotel.

After a few laughs at the hotel, we heard someone down the hall. I went out there to see what room it was. I heard girls' voices from one of the rooms so I came back to our room and let the boys know. I called their room and invited them over. After a couple minutes they didn't show up so Bose went and knocked on their door. I went out in the hall and we talked them into joining us. Once again, it was cleavage night in the state of Iowa. They stayed for a while and drank and eventually the security guards came and broke up the party because of noise complaints. Haters.

I'm a professional bowler
11.17.06 (11:46 pm)   [edit]

I had to put this out there. I just got back from the bowling alley and I wrecked shop. I played three games and the scores were 166, 174, and 255. That's right. I said 255. My previous high score was 220. And the 220 was years ago. I should quit my job and become a professional bowler. Don't look at the 166 and 174. We're only talking about the 255.

Now here's where you come in. You are all responsible for finding me sponsors so I can finance my venture into the PBA. Those mofos better watch out. I got skills. I don't know how I'll upstage this performance. Keep me posted on your search for sponsors.

Football is over
11.12.06 (3:56 pm)   [edit]

Yesterday wrapped up the final game of my 1st season as a college football coach. We played my alma mater and won. Coe vs Cornell 31 to 14. It was nice to see some friends that I haven't spoken to in a while. We ended up 7-3 on the season. We lost three games by a combined 8 points. It leaves a sour taste in your mouth when you know you shouldn't of lost those games.

I'm watching TV right now. It's the Seattle Seahawks vs. the St. Louis Rams. I just found out that the kicker that my brother held for in high school, is the punter for the Seahawks. I played against two of the Rams' linebackers. North County of San Diego produces some of the finest athletes. Chillar may have the NFL contract but we still kept him from getting the ring. Alright, I'll stop being Uncle Rico now. "Focker out!"
