Students of Cornell College are officially on spring break. Today was finals day for block 7. Only two more blocks left in the school year. Some of the basketball guys are headed to Lake Havasu in Arizona, a couple of soccer guys are doing the romantic thing and going to Florida with their sweet thangs, and the track team is also in Florida. Not us. Not the baseball team. Lucky for us, we get to stay in wonderful Mt. Vernon, Iowa. I guess the softball team is just as lucky and plays in a local tournament about 15-20 minutes away. To-do list while stuck in Iowa for break: -Sleep in -Baseball -DVDs galore -Sleep some more -Update website -Find a store with season 1 of Chappelle's Show |

This weekend the baseball team had to sacrifice Friday night for some sleep since we had to be at the Sports Center at 5:45 am on Saturday. That was not cool. We had 4 games in a two day span at Maryville University. We played pretty well and won all 4. I went 8 for 13 on the trip, which isn't bad if I may say so. One of the most popular descendents from "The Lou" (St. Louis, MO for those not up on terms) happens to be rapper, Nelly. Rosenberg was retardedly hype about the possiblity to see Nelly during our baseball trip. He even left a little-kid-like away message on his computer about it. I hope he was joking. Well... his wish came true. Unfortunately, Nelly happened to be a short pudgy lady working the cashier at the McDonalds. Hahaha. And the moral of the story is...........be specific! |

One of the funniest things I've seen in a while occurred today on my way to lunch. As I got close to The Commons I noticed the usual crowd of smokers standing outside getting their smoke on with their cigarettes of choice. One girl, who's known to be a tad snobby and opinionated, decided to wave her hands in front of nose and make a noise of disgust directed at some Arrows (girl social group on campus). Apparently the Arrows weren't having it today, cause they ripped into this girl this time. I believe some of the quotes I heard were: "Fuck you bitch this is public domain" "We'll fuckin smoke wherever we want" "Keep walkin...I'll kick your ass!" "That's right bitch, don't turn around" This might seem very wrong to some people, but I thought it was funny as hell. It would suck to have been that girl but I guess that's how the game is played. I especially like the fact that right after they finish cussing her out, a couple of the Arrows sweetly said, "Hi Ricky." Cornell is one of a kind. |
